What is the Too Good to Go App?
Each year, 40% of all edible food in the US is thrown away. Too Good To Go wants to put an end to food waste by creating a world where food produced is food consumed.
The Too Good to Go app connects customers with restaurants, bakeries, delicatessens, bagel shops and other food oriented stores that have surplus food which would otherwise be thrown away.
Using the app, customers can sign up for a "surprise bag" of food, baked goods, pizza or meals that they can pick up at the participating establishment at a specific time at the end of the day. The cost of the "surprise bag" is typically about a third of what the food would normally cost.
Where Can I Use the Too Good to Go App?
Too Good to Go is currently operational in a few markets within the US, including Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York (and NY metro area), Philadelphia, Portland (both Maine and Oregon), Providence, Sacramento, San Diego, San Franciso, Seattle and Washington DC. Participating businesses extend within about a 30-mile radius of each of these major markets, so if you live within an hour's drive of any of these major cities, there's a fair chance that there's "surprise bag" somewhere within your reach.
The New York area, for instance, extends into the 5 boroughs as well as Jersey City, Newark, Hoboken and other New Jersey cities in close proximity to New York City, and the Washington DC area extends into Arlington, Virginia and surrounding suburbs.
There are also a few participating Too Good to Go partners in the following cities: Atlanta, Charlotte, Colorado Springs, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, El Paso, Houston, Lubbock, Nashville, Phoenix, Raleigh and Tampa.
According to the Too Good to Go app, there are more than 9,300 participating establishments ("partners") in the United States as of March 2023.

Is Too Good to Go Worth Using?
Reviews of Too Good to Go are overwhelmingly positive, with many reviewers mentioning that they felt they were getting more food than they had expected. Some reviewers mentioned that using the app was a great way to try different foods or to sample foods from places that they knew about but hadn't yet tried.
